A wild weekend in the outskirts

This weekend I had the pleasure of attending a fishing competition in the very outskirts of our archipelago, “Sandhamnsöringen”.As is appropriate this time of year, the weather was quite harsh and “old sea” from a stormy last week brought waves of 2-3 meters. Not a problem to my boat in general, but as fishing for trout means you have to go in (really close) on shallow shores, the dunes caused some exciting propeller-to-bedrock impacts as the water suddenly disappeared beneath the boat…
20 teams started, most quite savy trout hunters, 1 trout was reported back as the competition finished 16:00 at Seglarhotellet, Sandhamn. Not the easiest of days in other words. The good thing is that the one fish caugt, was caught exactly where we began, indicating our strategy was good, only luck was down…
All in all a very nice weekend at sea, including severely nice evening activities with good friends including sizzling hot sauna, night time swim in the sea (5.2 degrees celsius) and the mandatory jacuzzi situated on the rocks overlooking the sea horizon to Finland.
